Galaxy Note 4 display trumps rivals in color accuracy

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Video Advertisement Feature 190 x 140
It goes without saying that the Galaxy Note 4 display is really good but DisplayMate went one step further and pitted it against some of the handset’s rivals. The result is unsurprising. Samsung Galaxy Note 4′s display has trumped its rivals as far as color accuracy is concerned.
DisplayMate put the Galaxy Note 4, Surface Pro 3, Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 and the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 through a series of color accuracy tests in a bid to find out which of these displays reproduce colors most faithfully. These devices were then ranked according to color gamut, organic colors, facial skin tones as well as blue reproduction from cyan to magenta.
The table clearly shows that Galaxy Note 4 display performed the best of all, and only the Surface Pro 3 and Galaxy Tab S could match it in the blue color accuracy test. It scored more on skin tone and white point tests as opposed to the competition.
This goes to show that Samsung has done an incredible job with the display for Galaxy Note 4, and its certainly one of those things that’ll draw customers towards this device.

Android 5.0 Lollipop On Samsung Galaxy Note 3

n3l 190140
We have already provided you with exclusive previews of Android 5.0 Lollipop running on multiple Samsung devices, such as the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy S4, today we have something similar to show you once again. Its Android 5.0 Lollipop on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
We have got our hands on an internal build of Lollipop for Galaxy Note 3. It shows us just how Samsung’s new TouchWiz UI looks on last year’s phablet flagship, while bringing support for all of the new features that come as part and parcel of Android 5.0 Lollipop. It looks pretty similar to Lollipop on the S4, and only the Settings and Multi-Window have been updated.

As far as the user interface is concerned there are new animations which are smoother than before, while the core green elements of Android Lollipop have been replaced with Samsung’s signature blue color. These design changes are pretty evident in the attached screenshots which also depict the new system-wide font, new icon colors in Settings, and an overall better look and feel.
The new Multi-Window feature from Galaxy Note 4 also makes an appearance and it’s here to stay, enhancing the multitasking feature on this handset.
Please note that for safety reasons we cannot leak this particular build right now, but that won’t stop us from giving all of you the first look at Lollipop on the Galaxy Note 3.

updates Samsung Galaxy S4 to Android 4.4.4

galaxy-s4-value-edition-1-large
Android Lollipop isn’t here yet, though Samsung is certainly working on bringing it to its flagship devices. In the meanwhile, those using the Galaxy S4 on AT&T can now update their device to Android 4.4.4, the last and final version of KitKat (and of Android 4.x.) The update is rather minor, with the only big change being the addition of KNOX 2.0 and a few AT&T apps (Keeper, Mail, Live, Uber, Remote Support, and Device Help) that you will probably never use (well, except Uber, though that is already available on the Play Store.) Of course, also included are bug fixes and security enhancements, which are part and parcel of Android 4.4.4.
The OTA update should be making its way to devices over the next few days; as usual, you can try and force it to show up by heading into the Settings » About phone » Software update menu, or just wait it out till the notification for the update pops up on your phone.
